Bolivians really like their cocaine

...seized by the police.

Chart of the day from Inca Kola News. Funny how the western press never mentions this stuff, huh? If they can report on killer ants, you would think they could access this public information.

Bolivian press headline of the day: "Bolivia demonstrates the capacity to combat narcotics without help of foreign agents"

One of the things i didn't mention in the post was that between 2007 and 2008, Bolivian cocaine production is estimated to have gone up 10MT (UN figures). Now look again at the chart and you'll see confiscations went up 11MT in the same period.

Of course some of the problem is the trafficking from Peru as Bolivia is used as a route through to Brazil (80% of Bolivian coke reahes the world via the Brazil route, apparently), so any peruvian produced cocaine captured by the FELCN also goes on the list, but all the same it's a better-than zero sum game for Bolivia and the reward is to be slapped around by the bullyboy country and its press corps.

I wonder what the intellectual lightweight will say this time in the comments section?

I decided to give that Sarah Hines article its own post. I assume your comments were directed to the text.
